Head Coach Kev Milne is a Level 3 qualified fencing coach who teaches Foil, Epee and Sabre. He has fenced since 1982 and represented Scotland at Schools, Senior and Veterans level. He has won the over 40s British Veterans Championship in Foil and was part of the Scottish Veterans team that took Gold in the 2018 Commonwealth Championships in Australia. Kev is also a coach to the Scottish Youth and Scottish Veteran Teams and Head Coach at Heriot-Watt University.
Paul Dourley has fenced since he was at School and was one of the first members to Join West Lothian Fencing Club. His main weapon is Epee but he also coaches the fundamentals of Foil. He is a level 1 qualified fencing coach. Paul is also a qualified Archery coach and the club Health and Safety Officer. Paul is currently studying towards Level 2 Epee. Paul competes on the British Veteran Circuit.
Alan Stewart specialises in Sabre. Alan received his coaching qualification whilst studying at University and was a member of the Queen Margaret University team across all three weapons. He is also a cub scout leader and the clubs current Sabre Champion. He is hoping to start competing again during 2019 and is aiming to progress his coaching qualifications further in the coming year.
Recently Sam MCCarlie has also joined the coaching team. Sam is a level 2 Foil and Epee coach. More info coming soon!
